Gloucestershire Constabulary is seeking a dynamic, motivated, and analytical individual to become the force’s new INTELLIGENCE DUTY SUPPORT OFFICER. Working within the Force Intelligence Bureau, the post holder will provide research and analytical support in the analysis of information and intelligence from computerised and manual sources relating to crime and criminal activity. This will include the following:

  • Gathering, processing and collating information and intelligence from various sources.
  • Managing the inbox and allocating intelligence to the correct departments.
  • Assist in the identification of areas where additional information or intelligence is required and request relevant data for further research.
  • Assist with the compilation of intelligence packages, targeting specific areas or types of crime.
  • To work, if required, in the Real Time Evaluation Unit, scanning, developing and disseminating information and intelligence.
  • Produce research and analytical findings in an appropriate format.
  • Assess previous and current crimes and incidents in order to establish the probability of future activity.

The post holder needs to be fully conversant with Data Protection legislation and other appropriate legislation governing the use of computers and data storage.

The post holder will be expected to communicate and form Working Relationships with Police Officers and Police Staff within the Constabulary at all levels and other police forces, law-enforcement and external agencies.

The role is offered on a full-time, temporary basis until the end of June 2025.
