This is an exciting opportunity to join Lynx UK Ltd as our telecoms installation side of the business grows and expands. We are seeking an Installation and Commissioning Manger to provide direction, management and technical assistance to Lynx’s suite of telecoms installations projects in support of the company’s strategic goals.
Reporting to our Director of Sales & Business Development your key responsibilities will include:
- Selection, training and development of installation and commissioning team to meet anticipated needs of Lynx
- Assist in planning & distribution of installation and commissioning project plans including costing, scheduling, quality, resource planning, logistics and budget control.
- Establish and maintain company-wide commissioning standards and systems
- Provide strategic leadership, vision & technical guidance and advice on installation and commissioning projects
- Liaison and effective communication with clients, stakeholders, Project Managers
- Comply with Health and Safety responsibilities as per Lynx Health and Safety Policy
- Report on project progress at client and Lynx management meetings
- Deliver revenue for projects in line with forecast
- Provide supervision, technical support and guidance to a team of telecoms engineers
- Conceptual studies, cost and planning studies, layouts, service design calculations, specification development
This is a mobile role with significant time working time spent on client sites and at our head office in Andover.
Experience Required:
- Significant demonstrable experience in telecoms installation and commissioning some of which should be at a senior level
- Excellent working knowledge of modern DWDM transmission platforms, IP core and edge routing, and access networks.
- Working knowledge of test equipment used for fibre characterisation and BERT testing, and the principles of each.
- Solid experience in the supervision of the other members of the group assigned both for technical adequacy of design and for control of man-hours and all associated costs.
- Demonstrable and in-depth knowledge and understanding of telecommunication networks.
- Ideally the candidate will have some form of OEM specific certification covering configuration and troubleshooting of optical networks.
- Ability to demonstrate effective supervisory experience of engineers and designers.
- Proven ability in working effectively within a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Results orientated within critical deadline driven areas of responsibility
