Sonomatic RAIS are looking for an experienced, chartered Category 1 Senior Inspection Engineer to join our growing Inspection team as a Inspection Technical Quality manager, based in Grangemouth on a full-time basis!

Role Responsibilities

  • Manages and maintains the inspection quality system ISO17020.
  • Ensures continuous compliance with PSSR and industry standards.
  • Ensures inspection team competence.
  • Authorised to carry out inspections within limits set by Letter of Authority.
  • Authorised, when required, to approve inspection reports and Written Schemes of Examination within limits of Letter of Authority.

Duties & Key deliverables

  • Accountable for Development, maintenance and auditing inspection standards for; static mechanical equipment to reflect changes in the law and inspection quality system to deliver ongoing UKAS accreditation for In Service Inspection activities and achieve Sonomatic business goals.
  • Responsible for defining the inspection team competence requirements and put systems in place to evaluate the competence of all staff and agency Inspection Engineers against defined criteria and implement it to identify needs, prepare and implement the team training plans to maintain the Individual & team competence levels in line with the business requirements.
  • Participate in inspection interviews, helping to screen and select suitable candidates based on the Inspection Body competency requirements.
  • Participate in reviewing, selecting, developing and owner of Inspection support systems, e.g. NAV, SharePoint, etc. to meet the needs of the Inspection division and continue to support compliance with legislation and relevant elements of the accreditation standard.
  • Accountable for Developing, maintaining and delivering the inspection monthly report and Inspection team key performance indicators to meet Sonomatic and client business reporting requirement.
  • Manage both scheduled and reactive workloads to ensure continued legal compliance.
  • Approve both Written Schemes of Examinations and inspection reports when required.
  • Participate in inspection-based projects/trials which improve the quality of inspections carried out.
  • Continually assess inspection efficiency and implement ways to improve on it.

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree qualified in suitable engineering discipline.
  • Chartered Engineer through IMechE or equivalent.
  • Industry qualifications in PSSR, PSR, ASME, API & EEMUA preferred but not essential.
  • ISO: 17020 internal auditor trained.
