Are you looking for your next challenge in business development and academic-industry partnership building? We need an exceptional and proactive professional with commercial insight to unlock the value and potential of our world-leading social sciences research to the business community. In this exciting relatively untapped space, you will play a leading role brokering and building relationships of mutual benefit to both academic and business communities, leverage funding, and support the delivery of innovative co-designed and co-delivered projects with the potential for economic and societal impact.
To be successful in this role, you must understand, translate, and balance the interests of academic and businesses alike. You will need excellent interpersonal and project management skills to facilitate effective collaborative working and deliver complex projects successfully for all.
You will work as part of a close-knit team, which takes a holistic approach to research, impact and engagement with researchers at the heart of our support - a whole team endeavour where different specialisms are harnessed as appropriate. You will work particularly closely with our embedded Research Impact Facilitators, who provide hands-on support to our researchers, as well as other Innovation and Business Development teams across the University and Oxford University Innovation, bringing into play your specialist advice regarding the commercial and business engagement opportunities.
This role would particularly suit someone who has worked in relevant sectors such as financial, legal and insurance services, environment, or consultancies, as well as those with a background in research, or research and impact administration.
This post is offered as a fixed term contract until 31 July 2023, with the possibility of extension, pending the award of further funding.
Please contact Sam Sneddon, Head of Research Impact and Engagement (sam.sneddon@socsci.ox.ac.uk) with informal queries about the role.
Applications for this vacancy must be made online. You will be required to upload a supporting statement and CV as part of your online application.
