BIM Modeller / Infrastructure Designer

As a result of this continuing success, we are now keen to significantly grow our Enabling and Development Infrastructure team supporting the wider business across the UK. As part of this growth plan, we currently have opportunities for talented Infrastructure Design BIM Modeller to join the team. Requirements-

Presently, we seek a Digital Designer and BIM Modeller to become a key and integral part of our Infrastructure design team where you will be involved in delivering and controlling design outputs from feasibility through to detailed design, including 2D, 3D, 4D, etc BIM outputs, whilst also undertaking a liaison and management role with our global BIM teams.

As a Designer working in a Digital & BIM environment you will be responsible for the delivery of preliminary and detailed designs and drawings working on projects in both the public and private sectors of land development infrastructure projects.

To be considered for a role we are seeking candidates with the following credentials-
  • Sound technical skills and ability to produce BIM models and CAD outputs to budget and programme.
  • A background in Development Infrastructure design including surface water drainage & SuDS, foul water drainage (S104), highways (S278/S38) and utility layout.
  • A flexible approach is required with good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team
  • High level of expertise in Autodesk Civils 3D with other BIM software (eg Revit Navisworks desirable).
  • A knowledge / understanding of the use of Dynamo software would be desirable
  • Experience of BIM coordination and preparation of BIM Execution plans.
  • Experience in delivery of designs in a design & build environment.
  • Experience of integrating BIM within a Multidisciplinary Design Environment
  • An understanding of BS1192 and PAS1192
  • Good written and verbal communications skills.
  • Full UK driving licence
Operational-
  • Manage own duties as delegated
  • Liaise with the BIM Managers to ensure conformity with Arcadis procedures and policies to support the business requirements so that we can deliver projects efficiently and effectively and appropriate CAD EDMS & BIM related technology, standards and processes are being implemented.
  • Production of Development and Enabling Infrastructure project deliverables
  • Manage Standards across your portfolio to ensure high standards of presentation.
  • Apply company standards, guidelines and promote best practice amongst CAD and BIM users throughout the team.
  • Liaise and work in a collaborative manner with Arcadis offshore Global Excellence Centres working with BIM model and CAD production resources.
  • Be willing to travel to other Arcadis UK Offices
  • Liaising with other internal and external design team members on a proactive basis to resolve problems.
  • Reviewing and ensuring compliance in the components of the project for which responsible, including drawings, reports, specifications and studies
  • Working in collaboration with other design disciplines to ensure the integrity of the overall design
  • Leading by example to achieve sector goals and championing a quality, innovative, and entrepreneurial culture
  • Being familiar with, and compliant with, relevant H & S regulations and promoting a culture of awareness within the team
  • Keeping up to date with technology and BIM design developments
  • Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager or Arcadis

Qualifications
Minimum Academic Qualifications-
  • HNC/HND in Civil Engineering (essential) BEng Degree in Civil Engineering (desirable)
  • Tech Eng or I Eng in Civil Engineering (desirable)

  • Reporting to the Team Leader / Project Manager, you will provide technical support into assigned projects ensuring successful delivery of technically challenging engineering schemes.
