Can you help to shape the future of Derbyshire Constabulary?

Come and join our forward thinking and innovative Information Services Department as a Business Analyst on a full time, permanent basis.

Working within the Business Engagement Team, you’ll be responsible for engaging with stakeholders across the force, working alongside police officers and staff in a variety of business areas to deliver innovative digital solutions and complex change initiatives.

Using your experience of architectural concepts such as APIs and cloud infrastructure, as well as your knowledge of complex business processes, you will undertake technical business analysis, assessing and identifying business and user needs to identify and implement realistic and cost-effective solutions.

Overseeing all stages of the project lifecycle from design, testing, implementation and the handover to operational teams, you will play a lead role and work closely with technical teams using waterfall and agile methodologies.

Innovation is key. You will actively identify emerging trends and share best practice across the team and organisation, allowing the force to take advantage of new technologies that enable the delivery of digital excellence.

This role also offers an exciting opportunity to be part of our collaborative vision, developing effective relationships with our partners within the Derbyshire Fire & Rescue Service, Home Office, local councils and charities supporting victims of crime.

We are passionate about your development; a career grade scheme is therefore in place to support progression within this role. The initial salary/grade offered will be dependent on qualification level and experience upon appointment.

We want our staff to feel valued and rewarded, which is why we offer a generous rewards and benefit scheme with competitive government workplace pensions, free onsite parking and extensive discounts at a range of businesses including access to the Blue Light Card and our ‘Boost’ employee benefits scheme.

We also appreciate the importance of work life balance and welfare, which is why we implement flexible and agile working practises, including flexi-time and remote working, and this role comes with a minimum of 26 days annual leave (plus Bank Holidays) increasing after 5 years’ service.

As part of your application, you must provide both a CV and Supporting Statement, stating how you meet the essential/desirable criteria as listed in the job description. Please ensure you provide detailed evidence of your technical knowledge and experience within your application.

Please note that as part of MV/SC vetting requirements, you must have 5 years continuous UK residency.

All applications must be made via our Derbyshire Constabulary Careers Website.
