We currently have a Technical Support Officer vacancy within our IT department covering all sites but based at Mercedes-Benz of Bridgend. We welcome applications from suitably qualified internal candidates who are looking to develop their career within our Company.

The ideal candidate will have recently passed a HND/Foundation degree in Business Information Technology, Computer Science or other I.T related subject and must have a keen interest in I.T.

Your responsibilities will typically be assisting the I.T Manager and I.T Specialist in:

  • Providing support and talking staff through a series of actions, either face to face or over the telephone
  • Installing and configuring computer systems
  • Monitoring and maintaining computer systems
  • Troubleshooting system and network problems and diagnosing and solving hardware/software faults
  • Finding solutions to problems
  • Replacing parts as required
  • Setting up new users
  • Responding within agreed time limits to call-outs
  • Working continuously on a task until completion
  • Prioritising and managing several open cases at one time
  • Maintaining stock / Invoicing / Purchase control
  • Database Licensing / Updates
  • Planning and management of calls
  • Start of Day / End of Day process

Other Information:

  • Core hours of work: 42.5 hours a week Monday to Friday
  • All candidates must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours when required to meet customer demand
  • Full time Permanent Position
  • 30 days holiday per year (22 days annual, 8 bank holidays plus a day for your birthday)
