What are we looking for?

This is a hands-on operational role requiring you to inspire and motivate people from diverse business groups and to drive the best practice through innovative strategies, technology and influencing to achieve objectives.

This is a Lead role so the experience we require is in line with the level. You’ll currently be operating at a Manager level within a Corporate property environment, within the facilities management or service industry sector. Whatever your background you’ll need a solid understanding of property and behaviour related safety with at least 3 years’ experience in a HSEQ management role.

REPORTING STRUCTURE
Direct Reporting to the UK Head of HSE and Matrix reporting into the UK Real Estate & Workplace Director.

Key responsibilities will be to:
Working in with the UK Head of Health and Safety – To analyse the HSE business risk within the JLL UK Corporate business environment and to continually improve, delivering an effective risk management programme aligned to the JLL UK strategy and ISO 45001.
Work with the Quality Manager – To align with the wider ISO quality standards, helping to drive continual improvement plans through joined up strategies for the Corporate Estate.
Working with the UK Head of Health and Safety and the UK Corporate Leadership Team - Prepare and implement a Maturity Plan to achieve ISO 45001.
Working with the UK Head of HSE to act as ‘Competent Person’ under Health and Safety at Work Etc Act 1974 and be the primary source of advice and support on all HSE compliance matters.
Create and manage formal Risk and Legal Registers.
Develop, implement, and manage UK wide policies, procedures and risk assessments (writing, revising, and approving), ensuring regulatory compliance in conjunction with being “fit for purpose”.
Conduct health and safety incident and near miss investigations to identify root cause and making recommendations to prevent reoccurrence.
Provide timely incident management and regulatory information to the HSSE Governance committee across the horizontal UK Business Groups.
Manage a Corporate HSE training and induction programme to ensure compliance with Mandatory legislative training and identified risk assessment needs.
Implement initiatives and leading indicators to embed HSE values, helping to drive a the ‘One Team Safer Together’ culture across the horizonal UK Business lines.
Provide data on performance of Health, Safety and Well-being governance activities e.g. internal audits, external audits.
Support the UK Senior Leadership team in the continual improvement and maintenance Business Continuity Plans. Part of ERT
Preparing the group for internal and external audits, assessments and inspections from all accreditation bodies and customers as well as ensuring that supplier and subcontractor audits are performed and reported as scheduled
Responsible for the HSE engagement and induction programmes for the JLL for JLL service partners across the Corporate Managed Estate.

Your overall safety mission is to:
Develop, manage, and continually improve the JLL UK HSEQ Management Systems.
Develop and track key initiatives and leading indicators that can have a positive effect on health, safety and wellbeing culture.
Support the UK Business in being identified as one of the strongest performing groups for HSEQ / Risk Management within the wider property management business sector.
Quantify and reduce the occurrence of accidents, incidents and near misses.

Core Qualifications and skills:
Member of IOSH – Chartered or working towards it.
NVQ 5/6 / Diploma or Degree in Safety Management. (or equivalent)
Comprehensive knowledge of Legislation and HS&E guidance.
Specialist area of risk (Working at Height / Construction Design Management Regs 2015 / Business Continuity Planning)
Good understanding and implementation experience of ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO45001, HSG65.
