HR Business Partner - Refresco, Pontefract, West Yorkshire

Refresco, the world’s largest independent soft drinks manufacturer, seeks an experienced HR Business Partner, working as part of the production leadership team at our Pontefract site. Working with the General Manager and your colleguse you will help shape and deliver the people agenda at this important canning site. Refresco is always changing, always innovating and we are passionate about what we do. This is a 24 / 7, fast pace , FMCG site with a new General Manager so if you are an HR professional and would like to be part of an exciting new project we would like to hear from you.

About The Role

You will Reporting into the site General Manager and work as part of the Production Leadership team, you will be responsible for leading the local delivery and implementation of Refresco’s people management strategies. You will have management responsibility for the HR Administrator and Training Coordinator at the Pontefract site.

This role will enable you to contribute at an operational level, identifying HR priorities on site and recommend and implement appropriate people management solutions in line with the standards, processes and procedures set by the business.

Your areas of responsibility will include the below, with clear KPI’s attached to each of these areas.
  • Performance Management - including appraisals, objective setting, HR coaching & training, promoting Refresco Values and employee engagement
  • Recruitment & Retention - recruit site based roles, both internal and external
  • Learning & Development - ensures all mandatory training requirements are met, management of the 4 box framework as defined by the CI function, ensure all coaching/training delivered and implemented
  • Legal / Compliance - ensure that all advice and guidance given locally by both the HR Business Partner and site team is legally compliant and in line with company policies and procedures
  • Employee Relations - work closely with line managers, providing them with advice, guidance and coaching on the full range of HR activities in line with the company policies and procedures
  • Absence Management - responsible for ensuring the site meets its absence KPI through effective absence management. Taking the lead on all Long Term Sick absence management cases
  • Responsible for the Plant HR Budget: Mandatory Training, Sports & Social, Occupational Health
  • Keep up to date with legal developments and advise management on compliance and risk factors
  • Ensure that employees are informed and updated on key business and organisational issues through appropriate communication routes as may be determined by the company from time to time
  • Represent your plant HR Team and participate in various internal groups and committees as required
  • Monitor local HR trends and provide management information on Key Performance Indicators
  • In addition, it will be a requirement to support cyclical projects such as Great Place to Work and other initiatives that may be determined a requirement as part of the company HR Strategy
  • Ensures effective relationships and communication is maintained across the wider HR function including contributing towards establishing best practice for our business

Salary & Benefits

The salary for this role is competitive and dependent on experience. We also offer an annual bonus incentive and a good company pension scheme, 3x basic salary life assurance plus 25 days holiday in addition to bank holidays (with the option to purchase additional holidays). Working hours are Monday - Thursday 8.30 - 5.00, Fridays 8.30 - 4.00.

About You

You will be an experienced HR Business Partner, preferably CIPD qualified, with extensive generalist experience gained in a fast paced, lean environment such as FMCG / Manufacturing. You will be able to demonstrate strong line management experience and evidence of continual professional development.

You will be an HR leader with up to date knowledge of UK employment legislation and its practical application and will have experience of managing the recruitment process for both factory and office based employees in addition to site management roles.
