Job Description

The main duties of the Billingham based HR Assistant are;
  • To provide first line generalist HR support on Terms and Conditions of Employment and HR Policies and Procedures with a view to resolving matters on advice.
  • Support the HRBP with the administration and management of Covid-19 data for both sites, ensuring data is up to date and reports are prepared and provided to key stakeholders on time and accurately.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance on all employee relations matters including any general enquiries, law, procedures, disciplinary and grievances or absence issues.
  • Build effective working relationships with staff at all levels, providing advice and guidance on a range of HR policies and HR related issues to support understanding and ensure effective communication of good HR practice.
  • Coaching managers to help develop their people management skills as required.
  • Arrange and attend informal / formal meetings with HRBP’s ensuring that all paperwork is accurate.
  • Provide advice and guidance on all occupational health referrals, absence management, and return to work cases with Managers.
  • Ensure effective monitoring of sickness trends and remedial action in accordance with the Company’s policy to facilitate a proactive approach to absence management.
  • To provide HR and admin support to investigating officers in the management of case work, specifically investigations into conduct, capability and grievance matters.
  • Support with the implementation of all HR policy, ensuring that all HR issues are dealt with within the timescales set out in the procedures.
The Successful Applicant

The successful Billingham based HR Assistant will;
  • Be Level 5 CIPD, Associate Level
  • Have a good level of Employment Law knowledge
  • Have HR Generalist skills and knowledge, preferably in a Manufacturing environment
  • The ability to manage complex employee relations matters
  • Have effective coaching and facilitation skills
  • The ability to interpret and communicate complex data and information
  • Have good working knowledge of Excel
  • Have the ability to prioritise and organise workload in a busy environment
  • Be able to build credible relationships across the site
  • Have a flexible and positive attitude
  • Have previous experience with Workday preferable
