We are currently seeking experienced HR Advisers to join our team based in Edinburgh providing HR advice and support to the business throughout Scotland and the north of England. Support covers a broad range of HR areas including employee relations activities such as discipline, grievance, performance management, pay & reward and absence management as well as contributing to SRUC-wide HR activities and projects.

In this role you will:

  • provide key support to the HR Business Partner in the provision of a professional and value add operational HR Business Partnering model on a Divisional basis
  • support the HR Business Partner in meeting Divisional operational HR objectives and service Standards
  • support the HR Business Partner in delivering Divisional HR projects and change initiatives
  • provide advice and support across a broad range of HR issues, particularly employee Relations issues such as discipline, grievance, performance management, pay and reward and absence management
  • act as HR lead on case management, working with managers to analyse cases, gather necessary background information, identify and assess options, and support/guide decision making (including acting as HR lead at discipline/grievance investigations and hearings) to ensure consistent, appropriate and pro-active HR solutions are adopted, while associated risks are managed/minimised
  • advise managers and staff on HR policies, procedures and systems
  • source, interpret and analyse management information to assist in workforce planning, engaging with the HR Business Partner to agree and implement associated action plans
  • contribute to the design, review, revision, implementation and maintenance of HR policies and procedures and encourage the consistent application of related best practice on a Divisional basis
  • deputise for and represent the HR Business Partner as appropriate both internally and externally.

You should be degree level qualified in a related discipline (e.g. Human Resources, Training or a related subject) or possess equivalent experience. Membership of a relevant professional body e.g. CIPD (or a willingness to achieve) is highly desirable.

You should have a proven track record of working in HR at a professional level with demonstrable experience of managing, engaging, influencing and advising managers on the HR aspects of business issues. You will bring a well-developed knowledge of relevant HR best practice, employment legislation, terms and conditions of employment and should have a proven track record of successfully managing the expectations of multiple stakeholders in a busy environment.

We currently have two roles available:

  • 1 x Full time / permanent (CFPS/HR/026/22)
  • 1 x Full time / fixed term for 2 years (CFPS/HR/027/22)
