Do you live in Gateshead and want to work in a brand spanking new 5* building on your doorstep? We have fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team, you will be the first in the door and can really shape the service!

We support our brilliant customers who are older people living in a community wellbeing hub. Our fabulous building is called Watergate House and although not yet completely built, when open it will be an 82 bed service for over 65’s living semi independently with the need of extra care. The building will also have its own beauty salon and Café and roof terrace.

As our Housing Concierge you’ll play a really important role in supporting the smooth running of our services. You will ensure the safety and securing of our buildings and of our customers, and make sure we get on with our neighbours!

You’ll get involved in lots of different activities which will include monitoring CCTV, regularly patrolling the premises, monitoring visitors to and from the building and ensuring tenancy conditions and service rules are adhered to. As our Housing Concierge you’ll also provide out of hours cover being the first point of contact for our clients during the night and at times we’ll also need you to do some general cleaning duties too.

About Our Team

You will join a new team led by Therese, who has been with Home Group for over 9 years and is bringing her wealth of experience in Housing management and bubbly personality to this new role, and she is super excited about building this team of 14 people which will include Client Service Manager, Concierge workers, Cleaners, Cooks and a Handyperson, who will all come together to form a brilliant work family.

Working hours

You’ll work on a rota basis between the hours of 08:00am and 21:00pm and take your turn working weekends and bank holidays. We need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About You

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable older people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative.

If you’re not the biggest fan of technology, that’s not a problem to us. You do need to know that we are quite a high tech company and most of our application process and mandatory learning are online. However we’re glad to support you, if you need help.

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
