We have a fabulous opportunity for you to join our awesome team. We support our brilliant customers who have been assessed as having support and accommodation needs such as: homelessness, recovering from mental ill-health, learning difficulties, from substance misuse, and probation customers, who are at risk of re-offending without the appropriate support.

They live in a shared 4 storey apartment block comprising 7 shared flats, accommodating 20 single people. There are 20 x bed spaces across 7 flats. All customers have their own lockable bed-sitting rooms with shared facilities of kitchen/diner, bathroom and additional W.C. All flats are fully furnished and have storage heaters throughout the building. There is a private car park. The property has security entrance doors with intercom connections to each flat and C.C.T.V is in operation throughout the property.

We help our customers through complimenting and integrating with existing support service networks for each individual. This could include, but is not limited to, debt counsellors, employment advisors, resettlement, drug and alcohol specialists, family workers, mediation, health-care professionals etc. Support will be delivered flexibly depending on individual circumstances and levels of need. Support sessions will be offered in a variety of ways and locations to fit in with the customer’s circumstances and aspirations at the time.

About Our Team

You’ll be working alongside our fabulous team who are super passionate about supporting customers to reach their goals and celebrating their achievements. To us we’re not just a team we’re a ‘work family’. There are 8 of us in the team and we don’t just love to support our customers, we’re there for each other too!

Our Manager Kerry has recently joined the service, after receiving a promotion. Kerry brings a vast amount of knowledge having worked in supported accommodation for many years. We work closely with colleagues in other services who offer further support. There is always a lively atmosphere in the office and plenty of humour!

Working hours

You’ll work on a rota basis between the hours of 9am – 9pm Monday to Sunday. You’ll take your turn working days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays, the service operates 365 days of the year, we need you to be flexible to meet the needs of our customers, but we aim to give you the time you need to spend time doing the things that matter to you!

About You

You’re passionate and motivated to help vulnerable people make positive and lasting changes to their lives. You’ll impress us with your ability to work on your own initiative, positively influencing people from all different backgrounds. Ideally, you will have some experience in working with vulnerable customers and have knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessments, confidentiality, support plans, alongside working collaboratively.

We help change our customer’s lives for the better. You’ll play your part by assisting in the delivery of tasks that are based on our customers personal support plans, and their needs and aspirations. You’ll work with our external agencies to assess and engage support for our customers. We empower our customers to develop the independent living skills they need, to successfully move on. Together we’ll make a difference!

To keep our records straight, and customers safe, it’s important that you are technologically savvy (or at the very least not a technophobe!)

To make sure our customers are well supported, it’s important that you’ve an understanding of challenges faced by vulnerable groups. Don’t worry, we won’t drop you in the deep end, we’ll help to you understand how things work at Home Group!

It would be amazing if you have worked in this type of environment before, however it’s your “can do” positive attitude and enthusiasm that are critical to make this role a success. We can nurture your talent, just let us know in your cover letter why you have a passion for working here!

As our customers live not only on site, but also in the local community, you’ll need to travel around to spend time with your customers. You could do this role using public transport, or if you drive and have access to a car that would also be amazing! (we pay your expenses to cover this use!)

When you join, you’ll need to have a valid Enhanced Check under the Disclosure and Barring Service. The great news is that we will pay for that to be done if you don’t have a transferrable one.
