Monday-Friday, 0700-1600, 40 hrs/per week (unpaid lunch break 1 hr)

20 days of hols + 8 Bank Holidays (off on Bank holidays)

As the Housekeeping Supervisor, you will ensure the provision of a high quality of service to all guests and visitors and you will ensure that the internal common areas of the development are regularly cleaned, inspected and maintained to a high standard in accordance with health and safety requirements. You will portray a professional image at all times and will be the first point of contact for all queries related to the cleanliness of the development.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • In addition to undertaking general cleaning duties in 2 buildings and Concierge/Building Manager’s office, you will be required:
  • To supervise and lead the team (to line manage 4 housekeepers, and 2 yardmen);
  • To schedule staff work rotas and tasks (to organise housekeeper/yardmen weekly/monthly schedules incorporating all buildings, bin rooms, car park, and external areas, listing tasks to be completed by when and by whom);
  • To ensure housekeepers and yardmen carry out tasks appropriately and in line with HSE and COSHH guidelines;
  • To inspect the cleaners and yardmen work, assist and instruct if work is not being carried out to the highest standard; To carry out a monthly inspection with Building Manager;
  • To ensure housekeepers/yardmen look presentable and are wearing right uniforms and the appropriate PPE;
  • To ensure COSHH records are up to date and all staff are aware of the correct procedures for handling; To assist Building Manager in organising COSHH training;
  • To ensure all Health and Safety is a priority, including Safe systems of work, Manual Handling, Electrical Safety Rules, Slips, trips and falls and COSHH.
  • To organise staff holiday cover (first 3 days of any staff cover to be covered by Housekeeping Supervisor which is in addition to their workload, thereafter arrange overtime cover);
  • To manage stock and order cleaning products and equipment
  • To distribute cleaning and other products to staff on a weekly basis, maintaining accurate records of what products handed out to whom and when;
  • To monitor and assess staff performance; To report any misconduct and failure to carry out tasks and instructions to Building Manager.
  • To set an example to other staff members by being courteous and helpful to all residents, members of the public, other staff, guests and contractors and the client
  • To promote a good work ethic amongst all the Development staff
  • To liaise with the Building Manager on a daily basis with regard to all aspects of the job
  • To be flexible and undertake duties as required by the Building Manager/Senior Concierges and Managing Agents
