Kingsmead is a school with a vision and a mission: we’re here to help some of the most vulnerable young people in Derby gain the life skills to get ahead. Offering a number of provisions, including our Special School and Pupil Referral Unit, we work with between 160 and 220 secondary students with a range of social, emotional and mental health needs. You will support us to take our school provision to the next level.

Teaching in our Hospital Medical provision, you will teach both on our hospital ward at the Royal Derby Hospital and at our Castle Site. You will place excellence at the heart of everything we do and champion the highest standards of teaching and learning. Taking ownership of your classroom, which will often be a hospital bed. You will realise the full potential of the young people we work with and deliver a wide ranging curriculum, culture and ethos to go the extra mile and ensure we never give up.

An ambitious, resilient and inspiring teacher, you will be well versed in SEMH strategies and capable of finding solutions for pupils in challenging circumstances.
