Spire Tunbridge Wells arelooking for an enthusiastic Porter to join their Estates team . This is a busy and varied role sitting in the Estates and Engineering team where you will have the opportunity to take on various duties in the hospital.

Spire Tunbridge Wells is a 40 bedded acute hospital situated in rural Kent, located within five miles of Royal Tunbridge Wells and on the boundaries of West Sussex. The hospital offers a range of services and facilities including two operating theatres, a sterile services department, a dedicated endoscopy suite, and a diagnostic and imaging department with an MRI and CT scanner. There are outpatient and physiotherapy departments providing services six days a week.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Collection of samples and drugs from ward/theatre/pharmacy/ departments and deliver to appropriate areas.
  • To keep waste clear from all areas of the hospital and to ensure that waste is being correctly segregated and disposed of and to remove cardboard & non-confidential paper waste from hospital to recycled through NDC.
  • To be responsible for the collection, from each department, and storage of confidential waste and its disposal when sufficient quantity allows.
  • .To organise the collection and franking of out-going post throughout the Hospital. To include completing paperwork for registered/recorded post.
  • To accept deliveries to the hospital, ensuring they are delivered onto the correct department in a timely and efficient manner.
  • To report any maintenance requirements to the engineering services department.
