A forward-thinking organisation who successfully delivers a number of temporary accommodation and tenancy support services across Wales is looking for a skilled Homeless Prevention Worker to join their team in Barry. Joining a high performing team, you will be at the forefront of the charities mission to combat and prevent homelessness and ensure every individual is living comfortably and securely.

Primarily, you will be providing detailed and specific housing advice to individuals at risk of losing their tenancy. You will assess the needs of each case and provide telephone or face-to-face support surrounding benefit entitlement, housing options, debt management and maximising income. Furthermore, you will empower individuals to access relevant training opportunities and link them in with various support services to provide a holistic package of care.

To be successful, you will need to have a detailed understanding of the challenges faces by those who are homeless or have difficulty managing their tenancy. You will have good knowledge of the welfare benefits system and be confident managing your own caseload.
