Capgemini Engineering are looking for a Home Gateway Engineer to join the team in Newbury.

Your role

The candidate will deal with the planning, design and related verification about the features of the Home Gateways for an important International Service Provider, both in laboratory and production network.

The ideal candidate has a degree in Telecommunications Engineering and has gained from 3 to 5 years of experience in network engineering and access equipment, preferably in the Home Gateway area.

The candidate will be a part of an international project concerning the software development of Home Gateways. Reporting directly to the Service Provider Management, it will propose technical solutions and coordinate the various stakeholders during the development, testing and deployment of the SW in compliance with the timing required by the Management.

Control of project planning, drafting of documentation of technical requirements and creation of test lists for software validation will be the main activities of the HG Engineer.

Your profile

  • Good knowledge of customer premises equipment and XDSL / FTTX / GPON access networks,
  • Good knowledge of main networking protocols
  • Excellent knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies,
  • Good knowledge of VoIP/SIP/Mobile architectures / protocols
  • Experience in the integration / design of cwmp Data Model standard Broadband Forum (TR-069, TR-181, ..)
  • Good knowledge of applications and technologies for remote management of Home Gateways (ACS; TR069..);
  • Experience in Software Validation
  • Use of IT applications: Wireshark, Jira, Office package, local and remote connection software for advanced troubleshooting; ticketing tool
  • Experience in Project Management
