2 HGV/LGV Drivers Required

Cat C+E (Class 1) and Cat C (Class 2)

Vacancies - Both Permanent
Hours - 48 + Possibility of Overtime

This leading UK Furniture Manufacturer based in Jarrow, Tyne and Wear currently has an opportunity for a Class 1 and Class 2 Driver to become part of their operation which is committed to providing a first class service to their Customers.

You will need to demonstrate a high level of driving competence with a flexible approach and a sound understanding of the law, relating to drivers hours regulations and tachographs both Analogue and Digital.

With the correct class of licence, and a "can do" attitude you will have excellent customer service skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision and part of a team.

This is a good opportunity for a motivated HGV Driver to earn above average wages

The ideal applicant would be willing to stay overnight Monday to Thursday as and when required (Possibility a Friday)

Cat C=E (Class 1)
Job involves delivering bulk orders to Distribution Centres and Smaller orders to Merchant / Retail Customers (Possible Multi Drop) as such there may be some occasional physical work required to offload (i.e. using pallet trucks). Due to this occasional physical requirement, the successful applicant needs to be physically fit enough to handle heavy pallets using a pallet truck. Also the occasional handling of individual items.

Cat C (Class 2)
Job involves delivering goods to both Retail and Home Delivery clients. There will be frequent physical work. Due to this, the successful applicant needs to be physically fit enough to handle heavy items. The role also requires working with a porter / second man.

Requirements For The Role
  • Full knowledge of Working Time Directive and Drivers Hours Regulations
  • Driver CPC Qualification / Card
  • Digital Driver / Tacho Card
  • Good time-keeping / reliability is essential.
  • At least 2 years driving experience is essential
  • Maximum 6 Points on Licence
  • No ’DD’ or ’DR’ endorsements on Licence.
