The role is to support the business in maintaining the roadworthiness of its vehicles; to achieve and persistently maintain high standards of workmanship and competence in performing tasks associated with preventative maintenance checks and general maintenance, whilst ensuring high standards of internal and external communications and relationships. The technician should be flexible with working hours although a shift pattern is in operation & overtime will be expected as and when the work requires it. An LGV license would be an advantage but not essential.

The workshop itself is predominantly a fleet workshop carrying out servicing on all types of vehicles and trailers, as a family run business, we endeavour to keep most work ‘In house’, this can range from the day-to-day tasks to welding / fabricating, diagnostics, electronic installations and more. As part of the (Group) we maintain and repair a fleet of exhibition vehicles for our sister company Versatile, often this work is varied and can range from servicing, hydraulic and fabrication repairs.

You’ll be part of a small team in a well-equipped workshop consisting of hard standing / lifts, two full length pits, DVSA brake tester and headlight alignment equipment and the most up to date generic and DAF diagnostic systems.

Qualifications and skills

· An advantage to hold a valid licence C or C+E

· Minimum qualification NVQ Level 3 LGV Mechanic and or time served

· Previous experience in a similar role for at least 2 years

· Adaptable

· Good communicator
