Grade MS1:MS4 Dependant on qualifications and experience

The role will be involved in the delivery of health and wellbeing sessions to learners aged 16 – 25 with special educational needs and complex diagnoses. This can involve exploring challenging subjects with those who cannot process information in a neurotypical manner, the successful candidate needs to be sensitive, able to adapt and differentiate their approach to meet the learner and have an excellent understanding and commitment to safeguarding.

If successful you would need to ensure a high quality Personal Development Behaviour and Welfare curriculum is in place and embedded within the curriculum which will include, Sex and Relationship Education, Equality and Diversity and online safety, Prevent and British Values. Ensuring good and outstanding teaching across the College and residential homes and providing evidence of impact. You may be required to present and explain this evidence to external inspectors, such as Ofsted.

Post holders will also be required to provide Travel Training for students on a 1 to 1 basis in order to ensure they have the necessary skills to use public transport effectively and safetly. This includes but is not limited to: Carrying out travel skills assessments and procude relevant training plans. Carrying out travel training on a 1 to 1 or goup basis dependant on the students’ needs, Writing progress reports onto Databridge and communicating progress to all relevant stakeholders.

We are open to applications from candidates who may have proven experience within this field but have not had the opportunity to complete their teaching qualification.
