The purpose of this job is to ensure that Hunts Food Service Ltd meets the requirements of Health and Safety, legislation and Corporate Health and Safety strategy, policies and procedures.
As a professionally qualified?Health & Safety practitioner?you will contribute to the work of our Health and Safety role by supporting managers in fulfilling their statutory duties.
Every day is different, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of managing your own workload, monitoring deadlines and key factor changes. All whilst being able to take in your stride any unexpected changes, which can result in different priorities and challenges being faced.
You will actively support all our departments by monitoring health and safety performance and intervening when necessary to ensure statutory requirements are upheld. Including, travelling to other office locations and sites within the area and supporting our internal management at all levels to implement policy.
The successful candidate with take full responsibility for the maintenance, development, and improvement of all aspects of health and safety, quality and environmental management systems for the Hunts group and dating Risk Assessments. They will also be responsible for conducting site audits and report findings to senior managers. You will be based out of our Sherborne depot, but the job will also require visiting our incorporate sites in Somerset- Dorset- Cornwall.

Health And Safety Officer Experience/Skills Required
  • Experience in a Health and Safety role within a manufacturing environment is desirable.
  • Experience in carrying out internal and compliance audits.
  • NEBOSH certificate (or similar)
  • The ability to work unsupervised and be able to use own initiative.
  • The ability to form good working relationships at all levels.
  • Demonstrated organisational and project planning skills.
  • Environmental awareness
  • Good attention to detail
