Health Safety Environment Officer

Main purpose of job:

The key function is to support the Hendon Site to ensure it operates safely and effectively in line with current legislation including COMAH. Effective implementation, ongoing maintenance and monitoring of SHEQ processes. Day-to-day support of SHEQ processes across all Site functions. Dynamic “boots on the ground” role conducting audits, inspections, safety tours and supporting Site Safe System of Work. Driving standards of continuous improvement working with the Site Team. Data input, reporting and analysis.

Development plan as required, to progress responsibilities and uplift professional competence.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Compliance:

• Liaise with stakeholders to ensure compliance;
• Maintain strong and trusted working relationship with Regulator;
• Report regularly to stakeholders on performance;

SHEQ:

• Assist Site in implementation of risk reduction measure;
• Assist in in management of change processes;
• Assist in ensuring ongoing compliance with any relevant emergency plans;
• Q-Pulse data input, reporting and analysis;
• Support SHEQ communications and competency programmes;
• Support effective control of contractors;
• Conduct risk assessments and ensure that risks are suitably minimised;
• Conduct audits, inspections and safety tours with tangible improvements arising;
• Support SHEQ Manager in Human Factors programme roll out;
• Support SHEQ Manager in ensuring compliance with relevant H&S legislation;
• Support SHEQ Manager in maintaining Site compliance with Company Policy and Procedures;
• Support Site in Investigation of Near Miss, Incident, Complaint and Accident reports;
• Help ensure effective corrective and preventive actions are completed;
• Support the Chemical Exposure Monitoring and Occupational Health Surveillance Programmes;
• Assist in ongoing compliance with Environmental Permits and legislation;
• Ensure compliance with EP discharge consent limits;
• Assist in Site ongoing Compliance with ISO 9001,ISO 14001& ISO 45001;
• Collect and collate Site data on Corporate Social Responsibility;
