The successful Health and Safety Manager will be joining an organisation at the forefront of the utilities, telecommunications, and civil engineering sectors. They are committed to delivering high-quality services and projects while ensuring the utmost safety and well-being of their employees, subcontractors, and the communities they serve. It is envisaged that the successful HSEQ Manager will have previous experience within utilities, telecommunications or civil engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and continually improve comprehensive health and safety programs, policies, and procedures specific to utilities, telecommunications, and civil engineering projects.
  • Stay current with and ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal health and safety regulations, standards, and guidelines.
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments and hazard analyses for all projects within these industries, identifying potential safety issues and providing solutions.
  • Develop and deliver safety training programs to employees and subcontractors, ensuring a high level of safety awareness and competence.
  • Lead investigations and report on safety incidents, accidents, near misses, and injuries, implementing corrective actions and preventative measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in utilities, telecommunications, or civil engineering health and safety.
  • Professional certifications in safety management
  • Strong knowledge of industry-specific safety standards and regulations.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership skills.
  • Proven ability to influence and engage cross-functional teams to achieve safety objectives.
  • Proficiency in safety software and reporting tools.
