Health and Safety Consultant
Permanent
Based Anywhere, Majority of workloads in Midlands and South West with some travel UK wide.
· Salary of £40k per annum
· Working away from home allowance of £25 per day
· Mileage, Travel costs and Hotel and meal costs covered
· 5% Performance related Bonus scheme
· 5% Company related Bonus Scheme

About this opportunity
Professional responsible for visiting clients and conducting inspections and audits or risk assessments, advising a client on health & safety issues relating to Risk Management, Noise levels, Air exposure, Welding activities, dust levels, Respiratory protection, Engineering and Manufacturing machinery safety.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Visiting clients to introduce workloads and complete risk assessments
- PUWER Assessments
- Welding exposure assessments
- Air sampling and Exposure Monitoring
- Noise monitoring and Risk Assessments
- Developing action plans and talking these through with the client
- Undertaking workplace Inspections such as workshop, FLT, Ladders etc
- Confident to undertake needs analysis and Safety management system audits
- Confident to deliver training such as Asbestos Awareness, Fire safety etc
- Positively engaging with our client and developing, growing, and maintaining our relationship.
- Delivering a high quality service which ensures that services meet our client’s requirement.
- Managing the client’s health safety obligations on the project to deliver a high quality service.
- It is also desirable, but not essential as full training will be provided to be experienced and competent in the area of DSEAR (Dangerous Substances and Explosive Atmosphere Regulations).
- Experience with legionella Management and control or Fire Safety risk assessments is also desirable but not essential.

Who we are looking for:
The role will be permanently based on a large construction project and the successful candidate must be someone who can work independently. The role will require both high-level monitoring of a principal contractor and the candidate must be able to act on behalf of the client whilst maintaining a collaborative and positive relationship with the contractor.
Experience, Knowledge, and Key Skills
- Sound construction related health and safety management experience post Tech IOSH qualification.
- Thorough understanding of health and safety legislation.
- Excellent communication skills – both oral and written.
- Methodical way of thinking and approach to work.
- Good problem solving, negotiating skills, financial and numeracy management skills.
- Ability to prepare reports using our existing templates.
- Competent ICT skills, with a high level of proficiency in MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Qualifications
- NEBOSH National Certificate / Tech IOSH minimum will be considered with right amount of experience and other qualifications
- NEBOSH Diploma/CMIOSH preferred.
We have a very dynamic and engaging team and so although this is a role that requires self-discipline and determination to deliver the desired results, this is also a role that is integrated with out Occupational health and Safety teams and will have full support and engagement with all members of the team.
