Head of UK and International Admissions Services

The University of Wolverhampton the ‘University of Opportunity’, is an integral part of economic growth and social change within the West Midlands, we are looking to appoint a Head of UK and International Admissions Services to lead our student admissions activities.

Working strategically as a member of the Registry senior leadership team, you will have significant impact as you lead and implement major service/operational improvements within Admissions, generating significant benefits realisation. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in admissions leadership and effective change management.

Head of UK and International Admissions Services Role and Responsibilities

• To ensure that the team contributes fully to the delivery of the University and Directorate Strategic and Operational
• Provide effective and proactive leadership of the Admissions function across the University, through direction of the central Admissions team. In terms of the direct team management
• Project manage activities to facilitate transformational major service/operational improvements within Admissions, generating significant benefits realisation for the University in support of its recruitment strategies.
• Ensure strategic oversight of team performance and service delivery
• To undertake strategic leadership for the key areas of Admissions work Setting and monitoring service levels for the University’s admissions function
• Leading on the University’s compliance with CMA Guidelines for Higher Education.
• Strategic planning of the University’s admissions function, as part of the Registry Directorate’s annual planning process.
• To liaise and negotiate with UCAS and other external agencies on systems, policy, institutional compliance and systems/staff developments.

Head of UK and International Admissions Services Requirements

• Commitment to fairness, inclusivity and the promotion of equality and diversity
• Experience of leading a successful University admissions function
• Proven ability to lead working groups, projects, process improvement and change management
• Substantial experience of staff management, including recruitment, appraisal, motivation and staff development
• Strong relationship, networking, communication, presentation and training skills
• Have a proven understanding of, and a commitment to, the development and provision of excellent customer service
• Experience of managing and/or utilising admissions reporting and KPIs
