As the Head of Technical Services, you will play a crucial role in driving our success and shaping the future of Fleet Operations.The Head of Technical Services role is responsible for developing the in-life fleet maintenance, accident management, logistics and refurbishment programme for customers, ensuring effective management of the complex supply chain, and delivering a high-quality, cost-effective maintenance strategy. This role involves coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, optimising processes to fit each customer’s fleet, and implementing best practices to improve overall fleet performance and reliability. The role is customer facing at senior level with a focus to lead, manage, and develop the technical services team in achieving both business and personal goals.Head Of Technical Services Key Accountabilities
  • Management of a complex supply chain, ensuring timely delivery of maintenance services including the cost-effective procurement of parts and materials, and logistics & refurbishment services, as well as accident and vehicle downtime management
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness
  • Ideally leveraging existing relationships, build a strong aftersales/warranty contact base with all motor manufacturers, to work on behalf of customers to ensure goodwill, loss of use, warranty, and other means of cost avoidance is evidenced at all times
  • Review existing processes & procedures, to develop & build market leading technical services for LCV & car fleets, aligned with customers’ organisational goals and objectives, utilising key industry systems with which you’ll already be familiar & existing fleet knowledge
  • Manage a team of technical service professionals, providing leadership, guidance, and performance evaluations. Review, develop and build a high performance team with a focus on customer satisfaction & service
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to establish efficient & effective technical service processes and schedules
  • Monitor and analyse fleet performance data, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement to be presented to key stakeholders
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental guidelines, including within the supply chain
  • Implement best practices in fleet maintenance management and continuous improvement initiatives
Head Of Technical Services Key Experience And Skills
  • Worked across car and LCV fleets within a vehicle leasing or fleet management company
  • Has demonstrable management experience in leading a strong technical team in such an environment
  • Experience with dealing with maintenance scheduling & optimising fleet processes
  • In-depth knowledge of repair times and costs to create in depth analysis of vehicles on fleet
  • Knows how to build and manage appropriate maintenance budgets, assisted by appropriate resources
  • Management of a large/complex fleet supply chain
  • Hold relevant qualifications to support the role
  • High Attention to detail
  • Good negotiation skills
  • Flexible attitude to providing solutions to problems
  • MS Office skills – esp. Visio, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Advanced excel skills (vlookup, pivot tables etc.)
  • Credible at all levels and able to present topics in a clear and meaningful fashion
  • Extensive Fleet Experience
