As the Head of Technical, you’ll be able to review current practices and bring positive challenge which will allow you to build and deliver an effective departmental strategy that sits alongside the businesses rolling 5-year plans. Bringing an engaging leadership style will be key as you lead and engage your team to effectively run and manage our Food Safety Management System that is accredited to FSSC / GFSI, which will also allow you build your global compliance expertise.

• Collaborate closely with your peers in Manufacturing and Supply Chain to drive a high performing food safety culture that all colleagues are proud of;
• Identify, lead and deliver change projects around process improvement, driving awareness and digital solutions;
• Act as the company’s Technical liaison to internal and external stakeholders/parties (TSO, EHO, FSA etc);
• Lead the HACCP team and take accountability for the HACCP system and its continuous improvement

We won’t be tasking you with maintaining BAU, you’ll be given full autonomy of the Technical strategy within our unique business that is expanding into global markets (10+ in the next 4 years), giving you the opportunity to develop and grow your function that sets the business up for continued success.

Am I the right person for this role?

Success will come from your demonstrable experience of operating within a senior Technical role in the food manufacturing industry. You’ll ideally be degree educated within food science related subject and be accredited to HACCP and Food Safety Level 3 as a minimum. You’ll also;

• Be a passionate leader that can engage, develop and drive high performance in your department
• Have the ability to manage activity across multiple tasks and projects effectively
• Have an appreciation across not just Food Safety but also incorporating Quality and Hygiene
• Bring strong knowledge of BRC, FSSC, GFSI etc
• Demonstrate where you’ve successfully delivered change projects/programmes
