The Opportunity

We have the opportunity for you to join our team as a Head of Supply Chain, an inspirational, engaging leader of people with proven expertise at building collaborative relationships, both internal and external to ensure processes run smoothly and efficiently. As a senior team member, you will be tasked with ensuring the highest levels of performance through efficient management of the supply chain operation. You will lead your team and make process improvements where applicable, training and mentoring the staff to improve, develop and enhance the operational capability and delivery of the supply chain function and its ability to service the business. Responsibility for all aspects of material flow through the Bakery, from Goods-In to Distribution.

• Develop and deploy a Supply Chain strategy in line with the overall business, delivering robust systems that ensures a stable and cost effect supply chain.
• Manage the end to end supply chain function ensuring optimum success at every stage and customer satisfaction.
• Manage a collaborative Demand planning process to ensure Customer requirements are achieved. Identify and minimise risk by working with commercial teams, suppliers and group Procurement to secure the long-term supply of the highest quality products that meet future customer demand.
• Manage the customers supply plan against agreed targets on service levels, stock holding and collaborative forecast accuracy.
• Develop and maintain a commercially focused departmental plan which supports the company wide strategic plan.
• Lead the production planning team to ensure cost, labour efficient and achievable daily plans are created to ensure the bakery maintains an excellent level of customer service to its customers.

• Proven experience at a senior level within a manufacturing environment.
• Educated to degree level relevant to the role.
• Continuous Improvement training or qualification.
• High levels of numeracy; is able to interpret budgets, variances and financial and statistical data, taking a pro-active approach to predict results and take necessary action.
• High level project management skills gained from extensive experience in overseeing all aspects of the supply chain.
• Demonstrate in-depth and detailed knowledge of all areas of control such as production, warehousing/ distribution, production planning principles and manufacturing systems.
• Demonstrate a good understanding of the customer and their requirements and use this information to shape supply chain strategy.
• Demonstrate a detailed understanding of the overall business strategy and how the function commercially supports and impacts this.
