As part of this growth, we are continuing to invest in Information Security, and as such, we are now looking for talented, ambitious, and passionate Information Security professionals to join us on our journey to build a ‘Best in Industry’ team which sets the gold standard within the Allianz Group.

We are looking to hire a Head of Information Security and you will be a leading an diverse team, and play a key part in ensuring compliance isn’t about ticking boxes, moving us to a continual compliance approach in both Allianz and LV= GI. As a member of the Allianz UK Information Security function, you will play a key part in keeping Allianz safe and secure, as well as having access to our training and development opportunities, and exposure to the Allianz Group frameworks, expertise, and global opportunities.

The role can be based in either Guildford or Bournemouth with a Hybrid working model.

Head of Information Security

Working as a trusted advisor to the CISO, and the organisation, in all aspects of Information Security.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the CISO to build, develop, implement, and maintain a five-year strategic roadmap for the evolution of Governance, Risk, and Compliance that supports the Chief Information Security Officers and Group strategic objectives for Information Security.
  • Delivery of an effective, comprehensive, professional service covering Information Security governance, risk management (including third party risk management), compliance (including to Allianz standards, PCI DSS, Cyber Essential), security training and awareness, technical security advisory, and cyber security incident detection and response.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal and external polices and legislation / regulatory standards, including vendor risk monitoring programmes, PCI DSS, that meets the expectations of our Customers, requirements of our Regulators and the AZSE IT Security Committee.
  • Ensure Information Security frameworks are optimized and fit for purpose and compliant with the Allianz Group Information Security Framework. Revise Corporate information security policies, standards and procedures to create the best support system and culture to deliver
  • Through managers within the function; focus on operational resilience as a priority, ensure risks are assessed and mitigated, events are robustly managed and prevented from re-occurrence. Ensure relevant information is cascaded to the function from AZUK and Group stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Senior Stakeholder engagement with relevant teams (Group, Audit, Compliance and Risk), with IT (Infrastructure, Architecture, Applications), Operations (Business Continuity, Crisis Management) and the wider business as well as with all key Regulatory bodies.
  • Drive a culture of Cyber Security Awareness, continue to evolve employee education programmes and materials to raise awareness for all employees up to and including the PLC Board.
  • Work with the Director of IT to ensure that software and hardware used by the UK is deployed to the agreed security standards, working with colleagues in Allianz IT and Allianz Technology to resolve issues as they arise in a timely and pragmatic way.
  • Ensure that as new cyber threats and technologies for detecting them are understood and adopted as appropriate.
  • Continuous improvements aligned with industry best practice to increase effectiveness of information security across the business
  • Manage the team to deliver this effectively whilst ensure individuals develop and perform to improve the offering to the business alongside their personal career development

Skills & Experience:

  • Leadership, management and financial budgeting experience
  • Demonstrable experience of building and / or development of a highly effective team of technical and non-technical resources
  • Strong leadership experience in setting strategy, leading teams, and influencing across all levels
  • Working with financial services regulators and/or other relevant external stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a global organisation, balancing global and local requirements
  • Familiarity and/or expertise of relevant information security and IT frameworks, especially ISO27001 and COBIT5.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience in Information Security risk management processes and best practice
  • Well versed in establishing internal and external relationships, ideally in a federated organization
  • Extensive background within Information Security
