Location: - Chesterfield, Derbyshire

Salary: - £35-40k per annum .

Role overview

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and ambitious finance professional looking to join a progressive and well established organisation. The role would suit persons who are currently Finance Managers, Senior Finance Managers and Assistant Finance Directors. You will be driven, dynamic, enthusiastic and have a real sense of purpose and productivity. The ideal candidate will not just be a fully experienced finance professional with relevant experience but also be able to evidence leadership qualities and a keen focus on operations. This position will report into the chief executive and it is paramount that the successful candidate is able to effectively relate the numbers to the operation and that the two functions are fully in sync to maximise efficiencies. As head of the finance department you will have full autonomy to implement policies and procedures and define your teams roles and objectives. Assist in company-wide budgetary planning – including forecasting and re-forecasting

  • Ensure that all of the company’s financial practices are in line in statutory regulations and legislation
  • Fully modernise the finance function and implement new electronic systems
  • Analyse the financial climate and market trends to assist senior executives in creating strategic plans for the future
  • Interpret complex financial information and provide updates and information as needed
  • Monitor cash flow, accounts, and other financial transactions
  • Supervise financial assistants and other employees in the facilitation of day-to-day operations, including tracking financial data, invoicing, payroll, etc.
  • Prepare official reports on a monthly and annual basis and submit the chief executive
  • Seek out methods and practices to minimise financial risk
  • Contract auditing services to ensure financial monitoring is up-to-date
  • Create and maintain relationships with service providers and contractors, including banking institutions and accountants
  • Update and implement financial policies and procedures
  • Maintain a policy manual for the finance department
  • Work with human resources employees to secure candidates who will be an asset to the finance department
  • Establish and implement a training program for new finance employees.
  • Oversee, review, and adhere to the budgets for each business department

YOU MUST BE FULLY QUALIFIED EITHER CIMA – ACCA.
