Head Of Engineering - Bury St. Edmunds

up to £65,000 DOE

This is an exciting opportunity for a Leader from a Engineering background to development and deliver the functional strategy through a cascade of the overall business strategy by overseeing the engineering function to ensure that all KPI’s are achieved and that the operation is supported to produce finished products to our customers on time and in full. You will be able to do this by creating a skilled team who are safe, trained and capable to carry out all elements of their roles.


Head of Engineering responsibilities include:


  • Empowerment and leadership of the team that deliver the functional requirements of the business.
  • Create and maintain an innovative environment that encourages colleague participation in raising standards of quality, team working and communication
  • Provide leadership and direction to ensure that your team are engaged, focused, developed and delivering to their full potential
  • Champion safety, health and environmental aspects on site ensuring that a safe working environment exists for all colleagues

Knowledge, Skills Experience include:


  • Recognised Engineering qualification, essential HNC/HND, Desirable degree
  • Significant Food Manufacturing experience
  • Financial awareness and business acumen
  • Project management experience
  • Effective communication, influencing and networking skills
  • Effective planning, organizational prioritization skills
  • An understanding/qualification in 5s, Six Sigma or lean thinking

A competitive salary up to £65,000

33 days holiday including bank holidays

This role is Monday to Friday however a degree of flexibility will be needed to meet the business needs
