Head of Production Engineering required for a growing company based in Oxford who have experienced great growth over the last 4 years.

As a Head of Production Engineering you will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge technology. You will lead the planning, co-ordination and control of the production engineering and processes for the company’s products.

This is initially a hands on production engineering role working with other departments to prepare designs for manufacture. However as production increases you will be required to grow and develop the production capability through the development of in house production capability.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to demonstrate how they can develop a production process which will need to be scalable as well as incorporate new associated products in to production.

The business is primarily involved with high end electro-mechanical systems within the photonics sector.

Head of Production Engineering Responsibilities:

* Plan and implement production; putting in place the necessary processes, procedures and schedules ensure cost efficiency.

* Lead on the planning and manufacture of parts, setting up a streamlined procurement process to maximise efficiency and minimise

* Maintain and develop excellent working relationships with our suppliers; identifying new suppliers as appropriate.

* Build an in-house production capability, recruiting production technicians as volumes increase.

* Support and incorporate design for manufacture considerations.

* Set quality standards and implement quality control programmes.

* The Head of Production Engineering will be required to champion continuous improvements in the production process and lead on new initiatives.
