We are seeking a dynamic, creative and ambitious leader to provide strategic direction to further embed culture, heritage and arts into Hull’s regeneration.

Joining the Major Projects, Culture and Place team within Hull City Council, the successful candidate will lead on the involvement and support of key stakeholders in the development of Hull’s long-term Cultural Strategy. The role will secure and shape partnerships that will ensure the city is well placed to deliver its aspirations and ambitions.

Building on the achievements of Hull’s tenure as UK City of Culture 2017, and its legacy, the role will facilitate the continued development of Hull’s cultural economy. Central to this is providing direction for council-wide place management and city centre regeneration, including direct responsibility for arts, culture and heritage-led regeneration programmes alongside destination management, including tourism and events.

We are seeking candidates with the ability to act as an ambassador and advocate of Hull’s cultural partnerships. You will have particular responsibility for the delivery of a competitive city centre product which meets the needs of residents, visitors and businesses. The role will also commission and act as client lead with the Council’s partners including Hull Culture & Leisure Ltd, the Bonus Arena and Hull 2017 legacy organisations.

Hull City Council provides a range of benefits to motivate, reward and recognise the valuable work of our employees. This includes policies and support to help balance home life with work commitments, excellent learning and development opportunities, a defined benefit pension scheme and employee discounts from a range of suppliers via our Hull Plus website.

If you’re excited by the opportunity to play a central role in the regeneration of Hull, and you share our aspiration to allow everyone to benefit from economic success, then we would like to hear from you.
