Job content

We’re looking for a creative and values-driven leader to deliver our communications and fundraising strategies and help us to make a big difference to the lives of young people in Scotland.

Society is changing. In often fragmented communities, the pressures and expectations on young people are increasing. Scouts has never been so important in helping young people prepare for the future, developing the skills they need to succeed in a changing world.

Every week we give thousands of 4-25 year olds across Scotland the skills they need for school, college, university, the job interview, the important speech, the tricky challenge and the big dreams: the skills they need for life. They develop a sense of optimism and strong values as well as the leadership and team working skills that are more valuable today than ever.

We make a big difference. You could too.

This is an exciting role that makes a big difference. As a member of our Senior Leadership Team, you’ll work with our Chief Executive Officer, alongside our Head of Scouting Operations, Head of Central Services, and Head of Outdoor & Adventure.

You’ll lead the Communications & Fundraising Team to shape and deliver our operational plans and support our wider Skills for Life Strategy. You’ll make sure we’re delivering effective communications to internal and external audiences, marketing our amazing Scout Adventures Centres, and growing our fundraising income.

You will lead, develop, manage, and inspire your team, and make sure we’re providing excellent logistical support to Scouts Scotland volunteers, our membership, and the public.

We have a really fun and inspiring brand to work with, which is all about skills for life. Every day you’ll be helping us to get that message out into the world so more young people can join in and achieve incredible things with Scouts.

What It’s Like Working With Us

We’re a values-driven, award winning flexible employer. We want Scouts Scotland to be the best place to work and offer a wide range of family and carer friendly benefits to support work/life balance. This includes flexible hours, paid leave for volunteering and public duties, and additional leave for long service. We believe in supporting and developing our people, with a focus on wellbeing and continued personal and professional development.
