Head of Commercial Contracts – Serco UK&Europe

Base office: Hook – Hampshire, with flexible working options

Here at Serco, we are excited to share a brand new role created to set the strategy and direction of the Commercial Contracts team and lead a highly engaged team of commercial contracts professionals in support of and in alignment with Divisional and Business Unit strategy, objectives, and priorities.

The role holder will be accountable for the development and continuous improvement of commercial contracts processes, culture, and ways of working and assurance of contract compliance and resolution of key commercial and contractual issues.

About You

You will have demonstrable examples of your experience to build and maintain strong, trusted, respected and purposeful relationships with internal and external customer commercial teams that enable and influence successful outcomes.

You will be fluent in your experience of balancing commercial, technical and legal requirements to achieve successful outcomes. With an attention to detail, you will be confident to manage risk and be able to present influencing cases of where risk may be acceptable or the business should review its position.

Equipped with strong negotiation skills, you will be comfortable to challenge, be challenged but all the while keeping a balance of relationships and the objectives to be achieved. Your ability to adopt robust commercial positions whilst maintaining trusted, respected, and effective relationships will be pivotal in evolving the commercial contracts culture and deliverables to the UK & Europe business. You will hold leadership skills that are demonstrable in managing a remote team, delivering high performance and collaborating as necessary to achieve objectives together.

Driving and implementing change with a mindset of continuous improvement is a key requirement to succeed in this role. You will be confident to demonstrate your ability to influence change through being a strong communicator accompanied with your critical thinking.

Your experience of working with public sector businesses across Local and Central Government would be advantageous although not essential.
