What you’ll be doing

The primary function of the Client Order Management is to support our institutional client order related activities by ensuring all client orders are received and processed in a timely and accurate manner. To support our growth and internationalisation, the Client Order Management Team will need to evolve as a centre of excellence, delivering outstanding value, contributing to the development of innovative solutions, implementation of new processes and strategies designed to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of service delivery, against clients varying investment objectives and demands.

The role of the Head of Client Order Management is to drive the strategic vision into an effective operating model, ensuring the infrastructure in Client Service provides effective support for the growth of the business. This is a high-profile position with a strong focus on development of the team function and Global Operating Model. This role combines high levels of technical expertise with substantial line management accountability, and ultimate accountability for a substantial part of the operational process.

Coverage of the role will include:

  • Develop the team structure and service provision to support a scalable operating model in line with business and investment strategy.
  • Ensure the team is focused on a low risk, high standard environment and establish the controls required to deliver appropriate mitigation of risk.
  • Lead activities and develop innovative strategies designed to increase productivity with own and across other departments, internally and externally.
  • Through the team, challenge established methods, explore and promote new ideas or ways of working with the buy in and enthusiasm from team.
  • Work collaboratively with senior manager/peers fostering credibility and influence towards developing a reputation of operational excellence across the firm.
  • Ensure superlative service levels are maintained to both internal and external parties and measure the quality of service levels across the teams, putting intervention in place where required.
  • Ensure our institutional clients are receiving a service which exceeds their expectations and future requirements.
  • Influence service providers to continuously raise service standards in order to meet our expectations.
  • Proactively identify training and development needs of staff/team which provide a focus for delivery in line with strategy/organisational requirements. Setting and cascading strategic business and departmental objectives to Supervisors to enable them to set realistic business-focused team targets.

What we’re looking for

  • Thorough understanding and in-depth experience of all aspects of Investment Management, likely gained in a similar position.
  • Proven experience of managing a high-profile team.
  • Proven experience in excellent leadership and people management skills. Ability to inspire, lead and engage with people at all levels to deliver and drive change.
  • Strategic and focused approach to delivery and continuous improvement.
  • Evidence of effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Flexible, adaptable and able to multi-task in a fast paced and changeable environment.
  • Experience successfully sponsoring and leading multiple projects and producing quality deliverables on time and within budget.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills
