Overview:
Harm reduction is a key component of our range of services, volunteering in this role will make a positive difference to people accessing support. You will learn about drug and alcohol services, and gain valuable, rewarding experience.

Responsibilities:
Our service users’ health and wellbeing are really important to us, so you will be playing a pivotal role in supporting the delivery of harm reduction interventions. This includes providing naloxone (an overdose medication), and the promotion of needle exchange within our services and community hubs, as well as support and advice regarding living a healthy lifestyle.

You will be supporting recovery coordinators by working with clients and supporting with case management to ensure effective harm reduction interventions are in place.

Following training you will support the facilitation and delivery of BBV (Blood Borne Virus) screening and identify people requiring referral for vaccinations. You will be working closely with staff and partner agencies supporting clients to understand, manage and reduce risks.

This role does not offer evening or weekend volunteering opportunities.

You will be reimbursed for expenses incidental to the role.

Interviews are due to take place wc 2 August 2021, arrangements as to conducting these at Worksop, or via online video call will be negotiated in due course.
