HARDWARE PLD ENGINEER

We currently have a vacancy for a HARDWARE PLD ENGINEER at our site in Rochester, Kent As a Hardware FPGA Engineer, you will be a member of a dedicated expert team responsible for the design and verification of Programmable Logic Devices (PLDs) and Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) used on our digital &/or analogue electronic solutions for products such as Helmet Mounted & Head-Up Displays, Mission Computers, Flight Controls, Active Inceptors and other associated safety critical technology. This role will provide you with the opportunity to work with leading, innovating cutting edge projects as a member of a very experienced diverse team with the view to progressing your career in this industry.


Your main responsibilities as a HARDWARE PLD ENGINEER will involve:

Providing technical expertise in the development and delivery of PLD/FPGA development, from requirements development, concept and detailed design, coding VHDL, synthesis and through to complete verification

Awareness of PLD/FPGA design constraints & impacts on other engineering disciplines

Managing own tasks within schedules and budgets to meet programme needs

Delivering design artefacts in support of company standards


Your skills and qualifications:

Degree/HND in electronics engineering or an equivalent qualification

Knowledge of PLD/FPGA technologies, development tools and techniques

Experience of working in an PLD/FPGA development team

Experience of digital hardware circuits design with PLD/FPGAs, as well as video processing and control law algorithms would be advantageous


Desirable technical proficiencies include:

Mentor Graphics ModelSim, and/or Vendor specific tools, e.g. Vivado

Configuration management tools, e.g. Synergy

System development tools, e.g. Enterprise Architect, MATLAB, Simulink

Requirements management tools, e.g. DOORS
