H&S Technician – Wolverhampton
c.£24-26k DOE + benefits

H&S Technician required by a tier 1 Automotive company specialising internationally in the design, development, and manufacture of innovative products to increase vehicle safety, and reduce weight, combatting energy consumption & environmental impact.

As H&S Technician you’ll be responsible for all Safety related issues/activities, maintaining a safe working environment for all employees. You will ensure compliance to necessary standards/ legislation, especially including H&S at Work Act 1974. Other responsibilities include:

  • Manage policy to ensure compliance with all relevant H&S legislation and maintain the corporate H&S audit system.
  • Making the workforce aware of/ able to fulfil H&S responsibilities through training & auditing.
  • Project work covering a range of areas including H&S initiatives.
  • Daily safety observations. Carry out/ review risk assessments (e.g., COSHH) & employee safety non-compliances.
  • Maintain the incident database, ensuring RCA & corrective actions are all carried out.

About you:

  • Passionate about H&S, you hold a NEBOSH Level 3 qualification, and are either working towards/have obtained a NEBOSH Diploma/equivalent.
  • An organised logical thinker with the ability to manage own workload in a fast-paced environment, and a track record in collecting/ analysing data for clear & targeted action plans.
  • Proven experience conducting Safety audits/ workplace inspections.
  • Automotive manufacturing environment experience is desirable, appropriate understanding of Manufacturing Processes/ Technologies.
  • Proven experience with external sources (Contractors, local authorities, Regulators, HSE, Fire Authority & Insurance).
