De la Rue are currently recruiting for the key position of Group Financial Controller within our Finance Leadership Team. This key role is ultimately responsible for all aspects of our financial management and ensures the integrity of financial control, and provides financial support and guidance to the Senior Leadership Teams across the Group.

Leadership capabilities are essential in this role, not only to lead the Finance Operations Teams but also to influence the business and the Group’s Executive Leadership Team on finance matters as required. This role also deputises for the Chief Financial Officer in their absence.

It is a permanent role which is full-time, based at our Head Office in Basingstoke, where we are currently trialling a home/office-based hybrid working policy as we return safely to our offices.

What will I be doing?

  • You will lead the delivery of financial targets for the Group in year, ensuring actions are in place to deliver against strategic targets
  • Provide leadership in the delivery of the full suite of required financial reporting in a clear, accurate, timely and well controlled manner
  • Participate as an active member of the Senior Leadership Team contributing to overall strategy and performance of the Group
  • Run and manage all financial and management reporting to meet Group and Statutory requirements
  • Manage overseas reporting entities and ensure accurate, compliant reporting is in place
  • Accountable for internal and external audits
  • Make proactive proposals to improve business performance to Managing Directors and Senior Leadership Team. Actively participate in cost reviews and act to monitor and reduce costs where appropriate
  • Keep under constant review and seek to improve financial reporting and control process across the Group
  • Produce ad hoc financial analysis to support the Managing Directors and Senior Leadership Teams in decision making as required
  • Ensure the effective administration of all finance systems and procedures
  • Assist the CFO in presenting financial information to the Executive Leadership Team, Stakeholder and Board Members

What qualifications, experience and skills are we looking for?

  • The successful candidate will be a Qualified Accountant with substantive leadership experience
  • You should have UK GAAP familiarity and IFRS familiarity, as well as PLC experience
  • You will have excellent stakeholder management skills, as regular presentation to Executives, Stakeholders and Board Members is required
  • Strong leadership experience is required
  • Proficient in Microsoft office, particularly Excel
  • Project management and implementation management experience is an advantage
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing industry
  • Ability to communicate with clarity and impact
  • Numerate and analytic, confident solving complex problems
  • Ability to articulate opinions effectively and present this to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to think creatively about problems and present innovative solutions
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
