Your Opportunity:

An exceptional opportunity for a Lead Financial Accountant has arisen within Newbury based firm which has an international footprint. This newly created role has come about directly due to exceptional fiscal performance that has seen the business experience growth from £115 Million turnover to £700 Million within the last three years. This incredible company has now acquired some of the largest clients in the world and their business is set to see additional growth across all divisions globally, with them expecting to achieve over a £billion in the next two years. The Group Financial Controller is now keen to strengthen his team with a key and highly progressive appointment that will see the post holder have the opportunity progress into his role within a two-year period. This career defining role will have a technical focus in nature, but the successful candidate will be exposed to global change and optimization initiatives thus constituting a highly interesting and valuable opportunity. The Lead Financial Accounting role will also see some commercial business partnering elements that will come to pass after the initial 12-month period of working on key financial change projects.

Typical Deliverables Include:

• Assisting the Group financial Controller in Re-designing the chart of accounts at group and subsidiary level to ensure better oversight and control.
• Manage the group consolidation process and ensure the required level of insight and requisite controls are in place
• Develop and lead an Assistant Financial Accountant and support them working towards their accountancy qualification
• Design and implement an internal financial audit and compliance programme
• Review commercial contracts and support the onboarding of new customers from a finance perspective.
• Support ongoing financial planning and analysis activities

What you will need to Apply:

Applications are welcomed from qualified accountants (ACA or ACCA) who are serious about progressing their careers in a fast paced and dynamic business. Strong communication skills are also a prerequisite as the role requires relationships to be cultivated across the business and in multiple jurisdictions to ensure a controlled and well communicated accounting process globally. Strong systems skill and a great eye for process would also be helpful as the post holder will be empowered to instigate change across the entire finance function.
