Overview Pertemps Recruitment on behalf of Buckinghamshire Council has an exciting opportunity for a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join the Street Scene team in Aylesbury (HP20 area). Working alongside the Street Scene team, you will play an important role in the delivery of a safe and efficient grounds maintenance service and will be responsible for maintaining the Councils parks and open spaces through a variety of horticultural tasks such as, grass cutting, shrub bed work, hedge maintenance, ensuring sites are clean and tidy (free from litter) and gritting, snow clearance. This role has a pay rate of £10.92 per hour. About the role As a Grounds Maintenance Operative, you will be responsible for: Using relevant machinery and equipment to complete the tasks. The role holder will also be involved in maintaining and preparing the Councils football/cricket pitches Having good communication skills, combined with a pro-active and flexible approach to duties Understanding the high level of health and safety risks involved in operational services and will role model good health and safety practices. Employees will participate in and complete all training activities required for the role and will adhere to health and safety Regulations and the Council’s safety rules at all times including the wearing of company issue uniform and Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) Attending and participate positively in activities such as team meetings and performance review meetings as required Working within the councils policy/procedural framework under close supervision.
