Job Description

Join an excellent Academy to provide targeted support to identified pupils from September 2021. This graduate teaching assistant position is the ideal role for a recent graduate looking to gain invaluable experience within a secondary school setting before embarking upon a teacher training programme.
  • Full-time graduate teaching assistant role, to start in September 2021
  • ’Good’ OFSTED school
  • Graduates of Maths, English, Science, MFL and Humanities (other specialisms will be considered)
  • Some experience with children and young people is desired but not essential
  • Darwen based secondary school
  • Role available initially until the end of the academic year (July 2022)
  • 3 positions available
  • Trial days being held the first week back in September
The school are welcoming applications from graduates of all experience levels, and will provide additional CPD and training throughout the position. The role will include working with students in class across Key Stage Three and Four, monitoring behaviour and providing intervention sessions for those students who are not currently meeting their target grades in particular subjects.

In this role, you will be expected to deliver 1:1 support in your subject specialism, work as a cover supervisor (covering lessons with eork set in absence of the class teacher) and providing intervention and lunch time support.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
