Position Summary

The Global Senior Brand Manager – NPD & Innovation will form part of a new global team that will fully integrate the brand into the business, develop & implement the first global brand strategy and build a long-term Ultra-premium + American Whiskey portfolio, aligned to the Edrington premiumisation strategy. This brand has bold ambitions to become a top 5 American prestige brand in 5 years through leveraging the brands genuine & distinctive sense of place.

The Senior Brand Manager (NPD & Innovation) position is a critical role in the delivery of the Wyoming brand strategy, leading the development and launch of an ultra-premium + Wyoming product portfolio including the future development of the prestige $500+ Halo offering. The role will review the Portfolio strategy & ensure that the proposition and messaging behind each new product or product family is of the highest possible standard and that all key stakeholders & markets receive best in class communications.
Job Description

Reporting to the Global Head of Marketing – Wyoming Whiskey & Partnership Brands, key responsibilities:

  • Maintain a strong awareness and understanding of evolving consumer trends affecting the brand/category (and wider luxury sector), including consumer typologies, needs, occasions, drivers and channels.
  • The SBM will lead the Product portfolio & Innovation strategy to ensure the brand has the optimum product offering to address Consumer Insights & needs & commercial targets through a global lens.
  • Develop a long-term NPD & innovation plan (5 years +) working with the creative SBM & ABM to leverage brand positioning & meaningful Wyoming partnerships for future pipeline.
  • Manage all NPD projects from Idea Capture through Business Case, Design Freeze and Launch as required. Development of all packaging requirements, working in close collaboration with the Brands Packaging team and US Partnership Brands team within agreed brand guidelines.
  • Work closely with Whisky Maker to ensure the development of our future liquid needs in accordance with innovation plans & foster close links between liquid, story, messaging, and overall product proposition.
  • Management and development of assets, materials, and tools to help markets successfully launch and maintain products, ensuring that global launches are coordinated closely for the most aligned and impactful introduction. Focus should be on developing those assets and materials for prestige products, ensuring that they are befitting of the value of the products and deliver the brand positioning.
  • Deliver profit enhancing innovation, facilitating the move to ultra-premium / prestige in line with the allocated budget spend.
  • Lead, coach and develop Assistant Brand Manager to ensure timely delivery of all innovation projects on time and to budget.
Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will be degree educated/have experience commensurate with this level of role, with experience in Alcobev/FMCG Marketing of food/drink innovation and have several years of NPD experience, demonstrating strategic thinking & Insight based. Strong project management skills and a collaborative style working at a global, regional, and local level are essential. A good understanding of P&L. Strong organisational skills with a resilient, positive attitude. Ideally experienced working with a spirit brands or luxury brands.
