Global C&T Senior Packaging Developer Sustainability

Job content

• University Degree or equivalent in a technical discipline, science, engineering or packaging/product design
• Experience in the area of packaging development, sustainability, packaging engineering or a technically related discipline.
• Experience of FMCG and/or flexibles packaging supply base an advantage.
• Filling Technologies knowledge (material/machine interaction & understanding) an advantage
• Interaction between product and packaging (e.g. migration, barrier props) & testing
• Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Fluent in English (verbally and written)
• Excellent interpersonal skills: communication, relationship building, networking, team working.
  

• Accountable for up-to-date packaging technology and material expertise.
• Accountable for material evaluations and technical details maintaining trial and test records.
• Accountable to get a full understanding of the relevant legal and technical implications of the plastics strategy and to manage their impact on the material development strategy and roadmap in close cooperation with the GIC packaging team
• Accountable to assess and execute measurements and methods (e.g. through life cycle assessment) to evaluate the sustainability footprint of current and future packaging solutions
• Responsible to deliver the material development programs for C&T to meet the 2025 plastics strategy targets in close cooperation with the central and regional packaging sustainability teams, the other Global Innovation Centres and potentially other segments
• Responsible to work in close cooperation with the GIC packaging team, with global Q&FS, Global Engineering, and the specialized contacts in departments e.g. Marketing, Commercial, Supply and Customer Marketing Insights/Customer Technical Insights.
• Responsible to work on continuous personal development regarding the latest packaging technology in order to remain informed about the most up-to-date technical standards, e.g. visiting seminars and trade fairs and by keeping in close contact with suppliers.
• Responsible to proactively manage Intellectual Property risks and opportunities.
• Responsible to provide high quality formal and informal communication on progress of projects.
• Responsible to effectively manage project risks and to inform and influence the project team.
