Are you passionate about animals and looking for a role which offers you the opportunity to develop your farming and land-based skills?

We are a large, modern, and well-equipped dairy farming business milking 1900 cows and rearing all our own calves and youngstock in Haselbury Plucknett. We are looking for a full time General Farm Worker who is enthusiastic, keen to learn, and reliable to join a brilliant team, working alongside high performance cows and people.

Our cows are housed in sand bedded cubicles and across many technical aspects they achieve top 5% performance. Our people work in a comfortable and safe farm environment using the latest tools.

The role will include a mixture of milking duties and all aspects of general farm work including milking, moving cows, herd health, calving, calf feeding and tractor work, but the exact split of duties will be determined by the interest, capability, and development goals of the individual.

You will be encouraged to work closely with experienced farm colleagues and external contractors such as foot trimmers, vets, consultants to gain valuable experience in all aspects of herd management. Alongside this practical experience, we will ensure you are exposed to the various technology and machinery on farm including automatic feed pushers, the UK’s first commercial robotic pre- and post- spray arms fitted to our rotary parlour and various cow management software systems.

In return for your commitment to cows, reliability, and teamwork, we offer full training and support, the opportunity to develop your cow experience and skills and a clear pathway of progression opportunities to develop into senior roles both within our business and the wider industry. Ideal candidates will have some animal or livestock experience or a strong appetite for it.

Rewards: Based on working approx. 55 hours per week, we have various shift patterns available and offer pay depending on experience. Shared accommodation is available if required. We also offer paid holidays, company pension and other company benefits.
