F Friend & Sons are a family run farm business based near Crediton.

The business specialises in the growing, preparation and packaging of swedes as well as an arable rotation.

We are looking for a general farm worker to support our swede operation.

The successful candidate(s) would be required to work full time on Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm with a break (30 minutes) at 09:30 am and 1 pm. Busier times of the year may offer the potential of additional hours.

The work tasks will consist of:

Sorting on swede harvester.

Pulling up mesh

Trimming swedes in packhouse.

Washing swedes.

Mending swede boxes and general maintenance of packhouse and yard.

Keeping packhouse and buildings clean and tidy.

Laying mesh in the summer.

Requirements:

Own transport to and from work, as site is NOT on public transport routes

Healthy fitness level
Basic English

Valid UK driver’s licence

An ideal candidate:

Is punctual and has good timekeeping.
Works well in a team.
Is hardworking and will apply themselves to a task.
Can work under time pressure.

Forklift training (not required but would be useful)

Experience with tractors is bonus but not required.

All training will be provided.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: From £12.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
