General Farm Worker– Bridgend UK – Salary (DOE)

This established mixed use Organic family farm is seeking to hire a General Farm Worker . An interest / experience with livestock (Cattle and Sheep) would be an advantage.

This is a fantastic opportunity, based in a beautiful part of the UK.

The Candidate - Desirable Qualities

• Previous experience / interest in agriculture.
• A competent and experienced machinery operator (not essential)
• A telehandler operator certificate (not essential)
• Full driving license is essential
• A motivated self-starter
• Work equally well alone, or as part of a team
• A positive and conscientious attitude to work and people and time keeping
• An interest in agriculture and farming
• Ability to learn new practical skills
• Good people skills
• Ability to work on own initiative
• Ability to work flexible hours to suit workload, weekend work required throughout the year.
• Own transport
• Relevant qualification (not essential)

Main Roles & Responsibilities

• Caring for livestock, including the cleaning, feeding, and medication of cattle and sheep; checking animals for sickness and other disorders
• Operating tractors and tractor-drawn machinery.
• To assist with site maintenance

Job Types: Part-time, Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Expected hours: 25 – 39 per week

Schedule:

• Every weekend
• Overtime
• Weekend availability
