Farm Labourer/ Tractor Operator – Bridgend UK – Competitive Salary (DOE)

This established mixed use Organic family farm is seeking to a Farm Labourer / Tractor Operator. An interest / experience with livestock (Cattle and Sheep) would be an advantage.

This is a fantastic opportunity, based in a beautiful part of the UK.

The Candidate - Desirable Qualities

  • Previous experience in agriculture.
  • A competent and experienced machinery operator (desirable)
  • A telehandler operator certificate (desirable)
  • Full driving license is essential
  • A motivated self-starter
  • Work equally well alone, or as part of a team
  • A positive and conscientious attitude to work and people and time keeping
  • An interest in agriculture and farming
  • Ability to learn new practical skills
  • Good people skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ability to work flexible hours to suit workload, weekend work required throughout the year.
  • Own transport
  • Driving licence (essential)
  • Relevant qualification (not essential)

Main Roles & Responsibilities

  • Caring for livestock, including the cleaning, feeding, and medication of cattle and sheep; checking animals for sickness and other disorders
  • Operating tractors and tractor-drawn machinery.
  • To assist with site maintenance

The Salary:

Competitive salary (depending on experience)

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Schedule:

  • Monday to Friday
  • Overtime
  • Weekend availability
